I get a lot of questions about the name of this granola. For years my family traveled to Ixtapa, Mexico where each morning we enjoyed the granola that the local women prepared.  I was haunted by the complex flavors of this granola and was on the hunt for a recipe that came close to my vivid memory.  I discovered a formula with nutty puffed amaranth (an ancient grain), which gives an amazing mouth feel.  The name comes from the ingredients that are typical of foods from this area of Mexico. You will love this granola.  Two 12 ounce bags.
